Help is here

Seeing your child struggle is a hugely difficult and painful experience as a parent. Adolescence often involves the developmental need for separation as teenagers work out their identity outside the family, but that can leave parents feeling worried or shut out when their child may be in need of support.

Catch it early

Reaching out can feel like a big step

It’s completely normal to feel a bit unsure about starting therapy. Research shows that getting support early on can make a real difference. It’s not about fixing something that’s broken, it’s about creating space to feel understood, build self-awareness and coping skills and find ways forward, together.

If you or your teen decide to give it a try, I usually suggest starting with a couple of sessions to see how it feels. The relationship is such an important part of therapy, and it’s okay to take some time to figure out if it’s the right fit.

Hello, I’m Pippa

Since 2017, I’ve been supporting young people and their families as a counsellor in schools, universities, private practice, and in mental health training and research. I know how tough it can be to navigate your teens or early twenties, and I understand how overwhelming it can feel, for young people and for the people who care about them.

I work integratively, which means I tailor sessions to what each young person needs. Sometimes we talk things through. Other times we slow down and try grounding exercises like mindful breathing, or explore simple tools they can take with them into everyday life.

A big part of the work often involves gently noticing that harsh inner voice so many young people live with and helping them grow a kinder, more compassionate relationship with themselves.

Teenagers can be incredibly hard on themselves. Therapy can be a space where they reconnect with the parts of them that are more understanding, resilient, and hopeful.

I also support other counsellors in their work with teens as a clinical supervisor.

If you’d like to talk more, I offer a free initial consultation. You’re welcome to reach out with any questions, and we can think together about what might help your teen feel more like themselves again.
